Most people know Sitges for its September bear week, and many miss that there is a second one. The Bears Sitges Meeting, also called the spring edition, opens the season over the 1 May holiday, when bears from all over the world come back to town before the summer crowds arrive.
What happens
It is shorter and more relaxed than September, with beach days, a cultural walk, an aperitif day and a BBQ. Afternoons often end at the nudist beach at l'Home Mort, and evenings in the bars of the centre, with Bears' Bar and Bear Dance at the heart of it. The town feels friendly and easy rather than packed.
