Bears Sitges Week is the best-known bear event in Europe. Every September, Sitges turns into bear town: ten days of parties, beach days and bars spilling out into the streets.
What happens
Afternoons are for the beach, and many bears head to the nudist beach at l'Home Mort, west of town. In the evening the crowd gathers in the bars of the centre, with Bears' Bar and Bear Dance at the heart of it, and the parties run late every night.
A second bear week in spring
September is the big one, but it is not the only bear week in town. Over the 1 May holiday, the Bears Sitges Meeting brings a shorter, more relaxed version of the same party. Both fill Sitges quickly, so book your stay early.
